This Coming Weekend-Nainital – The First Hill Station Escapade To Nainital
This Coming Weekend-Nainital is the first pit stop on the list of hill stations that I would be visiting this year! Remember that guy in the pool who wrote about the 10 hill stations that he will be visiting this year and would be boasting about it on shutterholic.in, well this weekend I would be covering Nainital, lying in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, it was a popular summer retreat for the British during the time they ruled India. It features the serene, emerald colored Naini Lake and action filled strip called The Mall, lined with restaurants, shops, hotels, and markets. Enjoy one of the many forest walks, explore the surrounding area on horse back, or relax on a boat in the lake.
This time unlike the traditional way of staying in a resort or a budget hotel, I am going to be camping approximately 12 KM’s uphill from Nainital. Janardan Resort, Churaini would be the camping place. I stumbled upon this amazing place on GOIBIBO while searching for budget accommodation. The picture were enough to lure me in booking the place.
Looks fun! Ain’t it!
The whole play: I am supposed to reach Nainital, by morning which I will, then check in to a resort in Naintal, which happens to be a subsidiary of the camping place where I would be, then we have a hike of 15 KM’s uphill. Which also includes 2.5 KM’s of jungle trekking which will last for about 2 hours before I check in to my lovely tent on the camp ground.
Now my travel priorities are changing with time and with the more I travel, I look for conventional way of staying, I guess that’s where the real travel experience lies. My interest in hotels and luxurious resorts are being taken over by budget stay, with the money that I spend now, I am more keen in spending on my travel and not on the luxurious stay.
This trip is not about living it luxuriously, but to reveal those places which are never been spoken about before.
