Border Security Force Welcomes You To Tanot Mata Temple
In my last article I wrote about renting bikes in Jaisalmer, and How I took a bus to Tanot. “Tanot Mata Temple” is beautifully maintained by our proud border security force. I reached Tanot by bus just before the “Aarti” was supposed to happen. It was around 7:00 PM when the bust dropped us right in front of the temple gate guarded by BSF.
I clicked the picture in the morning while returning. So the daylight as you may imagine.
Serving Food By BSF
Once you get down the bus, you need to go straight to the BSF mess. They have lovely delicious food which you can get for 60 INR. Isn’t that cheap, and army food I tell you is awesome. This food is better than anything that you can have in a luxurious restaurant.
What else do you need in 60 bucks? huh!
Entry Check Point
The gate that you are looking in the picture above is guarded by a very stiff bSF guard. You are not allowed to take your bags inside, you need to leave them at the checkpoint. No concession for ladies as well, they need to leave their bags too.
However you can carry your camera, mobile phones and wallets. So luckily I had my camera to take pictures and create videos.
One word for it, actually few if you ask me honestly. Beautiful, elegant and breathtaking. The moment you enter it gives a chill down you spine, considering that you are close to indo pak border and BSF taking care of everything there. It’s simply majestic.
The ritual ceremony is done by the BSF unit posted. The aarti done by them was amazing and sends a jolt down your body. I made a small video of the aarti done by them. Take a look and if you like please subscribe to my YouTube Channel.
They allow you to roam around in the temple and take pictures so I clicked few. Each picture tells you about the rich and strong culture we have in the defence services.
Post attending the temple rituals, you can have the delicious cooked food in the BSF mess. On top of that you do not have to worry about the sleeping arrangements. The BSF unit gives you blankets and there is ample space to lie down in “Tanot Bhawan”.
With the delicious food that I had it didn’t took me long enough to crash. I slept thinking about the tradition that indian defence forces carry and the strong patriotic message that they showcase.
Next morning was a long trip to Sam Dunes Desert, where I booked a camp side to enjoy under the stars.
The night was about to get bigger and so was my sleep.
